We all know the drill—January rolls around, and we set bold resolutions with high hopes. But let’s be honest… it’s cold, it’s dark, and our energy is often depleted. It’s no surprise that by mid-year, many of those well-meaning intentions have faded into the background.

What if we flipped the script?

What if now—at the height of summer—was actually the perfect time to reset?

When the days are long, the sun is warm, and our spirits are lighter, we’re naturally more open to creating new rhythms. July offers clarity, space, and energy. It invites us to step into the version of ourselves we intended to become—without pressure or perfection.

Root Chakra Grounding for Real Change

When we reconnect to the Root Chakra (Muladhara), we activate the energy of stability and grounded commitment. The Root Chakra reminds us that we don’t need to leap forward—we just need to stand firm in the now.

  • What intentions from January still resonate with me?

  • What’s something I can gently release?

  • Which one habit—small but powerful—can I return to this summer?


🌱 Start small. Maybe it's walking barefoot in your garden, adding a grounding yoga class, or simply drinking more water. Let July be the soil where your next season of wellness begins.

A Personal Story: When the Pose Finds You


Let me share a moment of surprise and truth…

This photo shows me in Scale Pose (Tolasana)—an advanced Ashtanga posture requiring core strength, arm strength, and most of all, mind strength.

I first lifted into this pose in my second yoga teacher training, in my 40s.

Fast forward to age 55—after years of tightness, injuries, a breast cancer diagnosis, and life just doing its thing—I found myself doing it again.

But here’s the thing:This pose was never the goal.

I didn’t chase it. I committed to the process:

🧘🏽‍♀️ Yoga every damn day

🚶🏽‍♀️ Walking every damn day

💪🏽 Strength training 3x/week

🥗 Nourishing, loving, and listening to my body

🎉 Having fun and living life fully

And then… it happened. Without striving.When we stop obsessing over the outcome and start honoring the journey—the goals find us.



July Is Your New Beginning

Mid-year resolutions aren’t about making up for lost time. They’re about reclaiming the present—choosing to begin again, with warmth, grace, and grounded intention.

Whether it’s adding a walk to your day, joining a yoga class, or simply pausing before your morning coffee to breathe and reflect—July offers the energy to do it your way.
